Craft Beer Margarita

Tequila and fresh lime shaken over ice, topped with a Mexican lager for a sessionable twist on the classic margarita.

Ingredients

  • 60ml good silver tequila
  • Juice of 1 large lime
  • 15ml agave syrup or triple sec
  • 100ml ice-cold Mexican lager
  • Flaked salt or Tajin for rim
  • Ice cubes
  • Lime wheel to garnish

Method

  1. Run a lime wedge around the rim of a wide rocks glass and dip in salt or Tajin.
  2. Fill shaker with ice. Add tequila, lime juice, and agave. Shake hard for 15 seconds.
  3. Fill glass with fresh ice. Strain margarita mix over ice.
  4. Gently pour cold lager over the top. Garnish with a lime wheel and serve immediately.
