Beer and Honey Bundt Cake

Golden amber ale and wildflower honey give this beautifully domed bundt cake a complex, floral sweetness with a delicate bitterness.

Ingredients

  • 240ml amber or golden ale
  • 4 tbsp wildflower honey
  • 225g unsalted butter, softened
  • 300g plain flour
  • 200g light brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 175C. Grease a 10-cup bundt tin very thoroughly with butter and dust with flour.
  2. Beat butter, sugar, and honey until fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time.
  3. Sift flour, baking powder, and cinnamon. Add alternately with the ale, beginning and ending with flour.
  4. Pour batter into the tin and bake for 50-55 minutes. Cool in tin for 15 minutes before turning out. Drizzle with a honey glaze to finish.
